How can I get my U of M guest account password reset?

Issue

University of Minnesota guest accounts are allowed or required for access to some systems. Requesting password changes can be done online.

Resolution

Use the online form to have your guest account login information e-mailed to you

  1. Go to the Internet Login page.
  2. In the Internet ID: field, enter the e-mail address you used to set up the U of M guest account.
  3. Click Login. The page refreshes.
  4. Under the Internet ID: field, click I forgot my password...
  5. Click Email my login information. The InternetID Lookup page appears.
  6. In the Email address: field, enter the e-mail address entered above.
  7. Click Check for my email address.
  8. The InternetID Lookup Succeeded page appears with the message Your password will be mailed to you momentarily.
  9. Check your e-mail account for a message titled Your UMN Internet ID. Your account login and new, ramdomly-generated password will be included in the message.
  10. Follow the instructions in the e-mail to reset your password.

Note: The request to have your login information emailed to your account may take up to 30 minutes.
